University of Houston – B.S. Computer Information System (Junior)

I prefer to do most of my learning through self study.
I have a modest Cisco home lab, and XenServer to experiment.
Udemy.com is also really awesome.

I have two dogs and currently am interning at Siemens AG as a Service Applications Engineer. Little secret between you an me ‘They don’t let me touch any of the code.’ But it is a really awesome experience to witness and be a small part of our development life cycle. I have learned a lot about the importance testing, QA, documentation, and OFFICE SPACE.

SAFETY & SECURITY FIRST.

Whether I am configuring a firewall, deploying new cloud infrastructure, or developing a new web application, I always keep security first in mind. It is not about the sexy zero days, but rather about getting the basics right, educating the team, and developing a culture of risk avoidance.
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION

Any system whether it be Windows, Mac, or Linux; on premises or in the cloud. I feel confident that I can resolve any issues that may arise in a prompt manner.
I am also an AWS – Solutions Architect Associate. One of my goals before I graduate is to become skilled and comfortable with building out secure global applications that are highly available,  scalable, and durable. You can verify my certification here using my validation number. Z7FTE6M21EVEQV3X

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?

I am still not too sure what my ultimate dream job would be. I have bounced around from the idea of becoming an Information Security Specialist, to Software Developer, and even think a lot about exploring my fascination with Linux as a career path. I have only recently been introduced to the field of DevOps and feel like it might be the nice middle ground I am looking for to keep things interesting.
